Great article! I've noticed in many instances, the problem actually derives from a faulty HDD cable. People wrongfully suspect that it's a bad hard drive and this simply isn't always the case. Thanks for posting this.

Thanks for sharing information with us. Although, I am bad at sharing information about construction projects, but I can also refer a site Construction Wire (http://www.constructionwire.com/) to readers, where they will get more knowledge about construction work. It is an online construction database, which along with guiding you also provides a list of companies inviting bids for their projects. Hope the site will be of help to those in the construction industry.

Thanks for the technical description of typical burglar alarms. One key to the effectiveness of a system is the company monitoring it. I think the things to check into when considering a monitoring center are:
1. What is their valid dispatch rate? Typical companies have a false alarm rate in the 94-98% range, totally unacceptable.
2. How do they verify alarms? This needs to be either through audio or video technology, not by calling you.
3. How many accounts does each operator "watch"? Many centers have one person monitoring 10,000 accounts; you want each person monitoring 2,000 accounts or less.
4. Do they offer a false alarm fine guarantee?

You give a very comprehensive explaination of how various alarm systems work. When looking for a professional to install the security system be sure and get a company that takes the install from design, to install, to monitoring and guarnateeing their performance; all in house. A six month money back guarantee if you are not happy with the system, intrusion detection guarantees and a false alarm gurantee so you are not stuck with fines or fees from local authorities.
